There are three things that strengthen the believer's faith. First is a knowledge of Jesus' mission to save the world, the facts and spiritual backdrop behind his death, burial, and resurrection. The second is the believer's knowledge of who he is in Christ, the depths and heights of what God has afforded the believer through Christ. Last is the believer's knowledge of Jesus' present-day ministry, what he is doing in the world and in the church today. The vast majority of Christian books deal with Jesus' mission. Few, if any, deal with the believer's position in Christ or Jesus' ministry. This little book focuses on what the scriptures have to say about what Jesus is doing in the here and now in his various roles as high priest of the new covenant, our mediator, our advocate, our intercessor, and more.

For the Spiritually Mature
The vast majority of Christian books are geared to those who haven't matured spiritually. This one isn't. It's written specifically for those who have moved beyond the rudimentary principles of Christ, and who hunger for a deeper walk with an active Lord.

Writing Style
Written in a condensed style, the writer focuses on the text of the scriptures and on the experiences of the apostles.

Jesus in the Now Peter Smythe 9780983003335 Books Reviews

Ho hum, another temporarily-free book about Jesus, I thought, as I discovered this short Ebook this evening. Figuring I might want to read it sometime, I sent it to the Cloud Reader, and opened the reader, just to see what I'd just bought. And immediately I was hooked, reading it straight through to completion before doing anything else.

This is one of those rare Christian books that is written only for mature believers, including men. Its key argument is that Jesus' ministry didn't end on the cross, but continues today. The book then fleshes out what that meant for the first believers, and what it still means for believers today.

Speaking as a retired pastor, I find nothing objectionable in the points presented, and very much enjoyed the added clarity and explanation of details that have sometimes been confusing.

But why take my word for it? Read this book for yourself in under an hour.

Recommended.
